Rotterdam Port
Featuring sailing event including coastal sail, biggest European port entrance and the best Jazz as a treat. ASCN scheduled the traditional 3-4 day trip in July, featuring sailing to the port of Rotterdam and enjoying Jazz concerts in the weekend. Depending on the wind & weather conditions we will sail over the North-sea or take the inshore route. |
When/How Long?
Day 1
Trip starts from several harbors from the Oosterschelde, the first sailors meet at the Zandkreek lock entrance on the Oosterschelde.
From there we go outside through the Roompot lock, North-Sea and Slijkgat or take the inshore route through the Oosterschelde, Volkerak, Haringvliet to our first destination: Hellevoetsluis. After a long sailing- trip we will moor around 22:00 in the “Grote Dok” port and we can celebrate our first victory of the tour in music cafe Barbiertje.
Day 2
From Hellevoetsluis we continue our journey through the outside Maasgeul via the North-sea or in-shore through the Spui, the Nieuwe Maas and inland to the “Veerhaven”.
On Sunday we want to moor around 14:30 in the old “Veerhaven” of Rotterdam, so there is still plenty of time to stroll around in Rotterdam and visit North Sea Jazz for music lovers with concert tickets. The “Veerhaven” is located in the Maritime Quarter and is also widely known as one of the most beautiful spots in Rotterdam. At this location, the character of the old historic town is still present. From here we have a good subway connection to Rotterdam center or to the NSJ concert.
Day 3-4
All boats will leave the “Veerhaven” back home in a direct 1 day trip inshore or a 2 day trip off-shore with most-likely a visit to Zierikzee.
Who?
This event is for sailors with basic experience, includes coastal sailing and entrance of a major port.

Every participant needs to buy their own tickets, of course it’s also possible to join for the sailing trip and spend the night in Rotterdam.

For sailors who don’t have tickets there is plenty of music and entertainment in the many cafes and streets of the city.

Expenses are shared by each boat participant individually.
125 Euro PP without concert visit and without Restaurant visit on Sunday night
Bunk-fee 3 nights 45 Euro, plus fuel, food and harbor fees for 4 days
