Blokart Beach Sailing Experience
Not all sailing takes place on water! This event is unique due to being held on land. The vessels do sport a sail, but have a trike instead of a hull. Typically held on beaches, allow yourself to be propelled to high speed by the ocan wind over a predefined course. No sailing experience is needed for this activity, and its about maximizing the wind utilization for speed. |
When/How Long?
Some time in October, on a weekend. Please see the event list table for an exact date.
9:00 – 14:00.
Here is a typical agenda:
08:45 : Assembly at ASML parking lot (Outside parking lot next to P1)
09:00 : Departure for location (typically one of the beaches of Noord Holland like Ijmuiden beach)
10:00 : ASCN Board: Welcome by Chairman
10:15 : Introduction to blokart sailing
11:00 : Blokart sailing
12:30 : Lunch (served at the Sailing Center Clubhouse)
13:00 : Break for lunch
15:00 : Departure for Veldhoven
Who?
Any member, no sailing experience needed
Where?
Typically, the beaches of Noord Holland, e.g., IjMuiden. The ASCN board helps to organize carpools for the participants.
How Much?
The event typically costs around EUR 50 (can change depending on the number of participants etc). This includes the hiring of the blokarts and lunch. It does NOT include travel to and fro from the location.
